No Cancer-Causing Chemicals Traced in 28 Samples- FSSAI

MDH & Everest Spices are in news since long time regarding its health concerns. Several organizations and international authorities have claimed these spices as unhealthy and cancer causing. These raising concerns have pushed forward people to stop consuming such spices all around the globe. However, FSSAI has taken this concern on priority and sent all these samples for lab tests.

Reports suggest that FSSAI collected 34 samples from MDH & Everest spices to test their health effects. Out of these samples, 25 were from MDH’s centers of Delhi, Haryana and Rajasthan and rest 9 were from Everest’s Maharashtra outlets.  

The tests focused on every aspect of concerns from the perspective of consumers. Which were focused on testing moisture content, insect and rodent contamination, heavy metals, aflatoxins, and pesticide residues. Furthermore, these samples were also sent for tests for ethylene oxide at NABL-accredited laboratories. Out of all these, 28 lab reports were received by FSSAI and the chemical was absent in all of them. However, the authority awaits the results from 6 more samples
